Media Advisory: Senator Brian Jones Encourages Participation in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

Who? Senator Brian Jones (R-Santee), the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency and state and local law enforcement officials.
What? “National Prescription Drug Take Back Day” allows for the safe disposal of out-of-date, unneeded or unused prescription drugs at designated locations throughout the country.
Where?

  • Imperial Beach Sheriff’s Substation - 845 Imperial Beach Boulevard, Imperial Beach
  • Poway Sheriff's Station - 13100 Bowron Road, Poway
  • San Marcos Sheriff’s Station - 182 Santar Place, San Marcos
When? 10:00am to 2:00pm, Saturday, October 23.
Why?
  • Unwanted or expired prescription drugs can be dangerous to the community by falling into the wrong hands if simply put into the trash.
  • Fish and wildlife can be poisoned if you throw your prescription drugs down the drain and it gets into their water supply.
  • Safely disposing unwanted prescription drugs at designated sites is the way to go and it will help keep our community safe.
