Senate Minority Leader Brian W. Jones (R-San Diego) issued the following statement welcoming legislators back to Sacramento for the new 2025-2026 legislative session:
"We are excited to return to Sacramento this morning as the Legislature reconvenes for the '25-'26 session," said Leader Jones.
"As California Senate Minority Leader, I remain laser-focused on tackling the issues that matter most to Californians—affordability, crime, and homelessness.
"I urge my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to set aside partisan politics and the distractions of national chaos. Our job is to fix California and the everyday problems our constituents face. I implore all of us to step back from the national scene and concentrate on delivering results for our state.
"As always, I’m committed to working in a bipartisan manner to achieve real solutions for Californians, while also embracing the Republican role as the loyal opposition. We’ll work across the aisle as much as possible, but we will remain steadfast in speaking out and fighting back against political agendas that move us further in the wrong direction.
"Let’s get to work and Fix California!"
