Senate Minority Leader Brian W. Jones (R-San Diego) has issued the following statement on the shooting of Charlie Kirk today in Orem, Utah:
“I stand in solemn prayer for Charlie Kirk and his family. This was a purely evil act, the type for which there is no place in civil society. America is the greatest nation on earth largely because of our freedom to openly discuss and express our differences. We cannot allow political discourse do devolve into hatred and violence. I pray for Charlie Kirk, for his family and for America. May we band together in the wake of this tragedy and not allow it to wedge us further apart.”
