May is National Small Business Month! California is home to 4.2 million small businesses, which represents 99.8% of all California Businesses. Crucial to the economic vitality of the state, 47.9% of California employees are employed by a small business.
In celebration of Small Business Month, I will be making a special tribute to small businesses, their hard work, and commitment to the betterment of the community, with the “40th Senate District Small Business of the Year” honor.
I would like to invite you to nominate an outstanding small business in California’s 40th State Senate District by completing the form below.

Honoree Requirements:
- Business/Home of honoree must be located within the district.
- Business must meet the Small Business Administration's Small Business Guidelines (https://www.sba.gov/document/support--table-size-standards)
- A business with fewer than 100 employees
- $15 million or less in gross revenue over the last three tax years
Nominations must be received by April 2, 2025 5:00pm.
