The California Legislature’s Woman of the Year event was founded in 1987 by Assemblywomen Bev Hansen and Sally Tanner. I would like to invite you to nominate a woman from California’s 40th Senate District to be honored as the Woman of the Year. In celebration of their contributions to society made by the remarkable women throughout California, a woman from the district will be invited to the Capitol and honored for their accomplishments. She will be recognized as Woman of the Year in a formal ceremony on the floor of the Senate.
To nominate a woman, please provide the following information in the form below. You can also submit a nomination via email at senator.jones@sen.ca.gov with the subject line “SD40 Woman of the Year 2025.” Women nominees must be residents or own a business in the California’s 40th State Senate District.
All submissions will need to be received by the Senator’s office Thursday, February 13, 2025 at 4:00PM. Once submissions are received, a selection committee will meet to review and select for the district a Woman of the Year.
